It’s no secret that with the New Year comes an incentive to start a new and healthy routine. Maybe a detox is what you need to kick off 2018 right! Get your body into a healthy rhythm and your mind positive and focused. Skip the juice cleanse – follow some of our favorite tips to transform your energy and your life, and see how easy it can be to start fresh.
Declutter – Decluttering is a great way to start the New Year. It helps to clear your mind and bring awareness to how many unnecessary items we have in our life. Organize, purge, and donate. It can be an incredibly freeing feeling.
Rejuvenate with supplements – Take Triphala supplements to balance and detoxify your body. It naturally and gently cleanses while supporting the body’s most important functions.
Eat seasonally – Our grocery stores have made it easy to buy almost any kind of produce, year-round. The problem with this? They are being stripped of their natural nutrients, and in turn we tend to consume fruits and vegetables with far less vitamins and minerals. Pick up produce that is in season.
Detoxify relationships – Surround yourself with positive, encouraging, and honest people. Recognize those that bring negative energy to your relationship and drag us down – let them go.
Dry Brushing – Dry brushing stimulates circulation, sweeps away dead skin cells, stimulates the lymph nodes, aids digestion, improves the appearance of cellulite, and supports the removal of waste products from the body. It is even said to boost the immune system and energy. Give it a try a few times a week!
Incorporate meditation – Meditation can be very energizing and can uplift. Start with just five minutes a day, and work yourself up from there. Headspace and Calm are two of our favorite apps that can help guide you through meditations and keep you on track.
Reduce sugar – Sugar cravings are common, and so very real (especially after the holidays). Try to get your sugar kick from fruits instead. Sugar can accelerate aging of the skin, damage collagen and cause you to eat more. Those cravings will become less frequent and your body will thank you.
Affirmations – We can’t tell you enough how powerful affirmations are and how they can really make a change in your life and mindset. One of our favorite books that helped us get into the affirmation game is Louise Hayes Life Loves You. Try a new workout – Go to that new class you have been wanting to go. This year make a point to set aside any of those excuses that have stopped you in the past and switch it up. Your body loves to be challenged.
Dance – Yep. This is one of our all-time favorites. It may seem silly, but dancing has actually been proven to help release emotions, improve memory and boosts your mood instantly. Dance with your kids, your friends, or even do a little dance by yourself in front of the mirror.
Detoxing does not have to be overwhelming or depleting. It is about being thoughtful with your time, allowing more positivity to flow into your life and prioritizing wellness into your daily routine. Most importantly, it is about feeling refreshed. Try incorporating some of our favorite tips to give your 2018 a boost!
