Valentine’s Day can be celebrated with your loved one, your friends or your family and that’s what makes it so much fun. But let’s be honest, the typical dinner and flowers can get monotonous and uninspiring. Why not change it up and try a few of our favorite not so run-of-the-mill Valentine’s Day activities!
STAY IN: Hire a private chef to come and cook up a delicious meal for two or add other couples to the mix. This way you can have an intimate gathering that is special in the comfort of your own home. Hire a Chef allows you to find a chef in your area that can come and prepare a delicious meal for the night.
MUSEUM: This can be extremely romantic and unexpected. Many planetariums, aquariums and museums have V-day events with dinner accompanied by activities to highlight the special day. For those New Yorkers, the Hayden Planetarium has a night of drinks, hors d’oeuvres and chocolate with live music. Find a local museum, an aquarium, or planetarium that celebrates V-day.

GHOST TOUR: Yes, you heard right. Love is one of the essential ingredients of a good ghost story. There are many ghost tours specially created just for Valentine’s day to highlight tales of love, passion, heartbreak and scandal. You will be surprised how easy it is to track down a tour in your area.
AERIAL YOGA: Change it up and try something fun! Not only is it an amazing work out, but it is a blast! This is an adventurous way to tap into your inner yogi, while honing cupid’s holiday. There are Aerial Yoga studios all around the world, so find a class and get hanging!

SPA DAY: Everybody can always use a little R&R. Take this time to decompress from your daily stresses. A spa day is never a bad idea. As a couple or individually, unwind and enjoy being pampered.

VOLUNTEER: This is the perfect way to spread love to those who need it most. Whether it’s sending flowers to a few residents in a nursing home, helping out at a soup kitchen or visiting play time at a children’s hospital – these are some wonderful ways to share an experience on Valentine’s day. Sometimes the best way to fill up our own heart is by filling up the hearts of others. (Find volunteer opportunities in your area at VolunteerMatch.)
DANCE: Whether you enjoy replicating everybody’s beloved movie Dirty Dancing or doing the running man, there is always something for everyone. Attend a lavish party like the Jazz Age Sweetheart Soiree or take a dance class. This is a chance to polish your moves or simply learn some new ones. It’s a fun way to laugh and let go.

Whether you choose to spend the day alone, with friends, family or just your honey, make some memories by stepping outside the norm.
Sending love your way,
