In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month I wanted to share something that is very personal for me. I am not generally a person that showcases her life but the hope that it will create awareness allows me to find the courage to share it.
Around this time of year, my memories take me back to when the Harvest Festival takes place. You can feel the excitement in the air, everyone hustling and bustling in preparation of one of the most ancient and important festivals in tropical Kerala, India.
Kerala known as “God’s Own Country” is an enchanted part of India mixed with ancient heritage and a colonial past leading to many surprising discoveries and possibilities. This tropical state located in the south of India is where you will find visions of coconut trees and fresh mangoes that dangle from the branches.
These days everybody seems to be raving about meditation and you are not sure what the hype is about. But there is good reason why people do. It was only in the last two years that I was able to regularly incorporate this into my life and am very grateful that I did.

As Valentine’s Day approaches it evokes thoughts of some of the greatest love stories that have existed in history. One that particularly comes to mind is the iconic Taj Mahal which remains as an eternal symbol of one such love. The legendary love between Shah Jahan and Mumtaz is tangible and haunting in this monument.
